Our colleagues at Al Jazeera Arabic have shared a verified video showing the first moments after an Israeli attack on a school sheltering displaced people in the Nuseirat refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip.
The death toll from the overnight attack has continued to mount with at least 32 reported killed and many wounded.
The video shows the upper floors of the school building on fire and rubble strewn across a wide area as rescue workers dig victims out from beneath parts of the building that have collapsed.
Israel’s military said its jet fighters carried out an attack that targeted an UNRWA school that it claimed was both a shelter for displaced people and also used by Hamas fighters.
